A fair days wage for a fair days work.

Various reports from research organisations such as the Rowntree Trust Foundation and the IFS has shown that the minimum wage falls short of providing a reasonable lifestyle.

We support the introduction of a living wage.

We're all in this together

With the rights of citizenship comes responsibility. Tax avoidance by wealthy corporations and individuals means that an unfair burden falls on working and middle class members of society.

We support closing tax loopholes and proper enforcement of existing law by HMRC.

We also support making UK citizens liable for tax wherever they live in the world - just as US citizens are.

Curbing excessive boardroom pay

Success should be rewarded; but boardroom pay has escalated from 47 to 81 times the average salary in ten years, without producing a similar scale of economic success. Excessive boardroom pay and rewards for failure are not acceptable in a progressive society.

We support the creation of a High Pay Commission.
