CEO required. Enquire within.
Are you fed up with the freeze on your wages, high interest rates on your mortgage but nothing on your savings, overdraft charges, and extortionate repayment terms on your credit card?
Had enough of watching bankers blow 40-grand on a night out, exploit tax loopholes and shovel money into offshore accounts?
Isn't it time to get a slice of the cake? isn't it time to get in on the action? isn't it time to...
appoint me to the board
How it works
There is an application form to complete. And all you have to do is tell us why you think you should get the job.
What will be the selection process?
Update 29 August 2011: If we fail to raise £10,000 for the salary, then the selection process will be a straightofrward beauty parade - the profile with the most votes from the public, will be awarded the CEO position.
If £10,000 is raised for the salary, then there will be a selection committee. In this circumstance, applications with many many votes will be shortlisted for consideration by the committee. The committee will comprise a representative of appoint me to the board, and two other - as yet unknown - people.
What's the catch?
Honestly, there isn't one. We're looking to make a serious point about built-in social injustice in western capitalism And we're hoping to have a few laughs and make someone a few quid in the process. In fact if it does take off, we're slightly more worried about how we will pay our National Insurance and tax contributions. *Gulp.*
How will we raise the CEO salary
Initially, we were looking at an application fee. But we've changed our minds. Instead, we are carrying pay-per-click ads. We're also going to sell shares in the new bank. There is even appointmetotheboard merchandise.
Expenditure
Not all of the money raised this way will be spent on the CEO salary. There will be third party payments for merchandise transactions and doubtless some administration costs. We might spend some money on promotion. Plus, the previously mentioned employer contributions. And we're also looking to donate money to our nominated charity, Barnardo's.
